Sized Twice, Quad Acrylic Primed
The dense fine tooth Belgian linen is hand primed with a double-thick layer of sizing and 4 layers of highly absorbent acrylic primer. Sanding between layers produces a very fine, very smooth, painting surface, and a rich painting experience, universally acceptable for most artist paints. The super smooth surface makes it an excellent choice for fine detail and portrait type work. Belgian Linen, primed by Artfix. For best results, gently wipe the surface with mineral spirits or turpentine before painting to flash-off any excessive oils on the surface.
Each canvas panel is meticulously handmade and inspected to stringent quality standards. We use MDF Engineered Wood, the most stable composite material available, and prime it four times before mounting the canvas using our pH balanced PVA. The back is covered with vinyl creating a double-sided impervious moisture barrier for improved stability. And with our unique process, we stress relieve each panel which keeps it as flat as possible.
